Anti-Bullying Week

Last week was Anti-Bullying Week at Bowes with the theme 'Choose Respect'.

Thank you to all the children and staff who wore odd socks to school to demonstrate that we are all different. Our MPs and Class Councillors also delivered Anti-Bullying School Council sessions, which gave the children an opportunity to talk about bullying, what it means, where and why it happens and what we, at Bowes, can do to stop it happening. Most children are aware that they should speak with a trusted adult to get advice, but children also spoke about standing up for themselves, telling an adult, strategies to deal with situations, helping the 'bully' and generally being kind to each other.
